Before CurbsideOS existed, there was Competitive Lawn Service of Downers Grove, Illinois. That was Carl's company — the founder of CurbsideOS. He was the accountant, the salesperson, the estimator, the marketing team, the customer service rep, and the payroll department. He was not trained in any of those roles.

The business failed. Carl filed for bankruptcy.
